Bernard Montminy has an impressive background in the field of chemistry, with more than 30 years of experience behind him. He holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry and a master's degree in organic synthesis from Université Laval.

Prior to joining IRDA, he held the position of laboratory manager and project manager at the Envirolab-Bodycote Analytical Laboratory (now Eurofines-Environex); as well as various other positions at COREM, the mining industry research centre, including director of a laboratory, a pilot plant, and infrastructure projects.

In recent years, he dedicated his time to research and development work at a variety of companies. He was involved in the construction of a new analytical laboratory, as well as projects concerned with the reclamation of contaminated soils, including the development of treatment processes.
