Integrated production laboratories

The Integrated Production Laboratories are equipped to perform various trials to measure the response of beneficial and harmful insects, including mites, to crop application tools designed to replace synthetic pesticides.

State-of-the-art infrastructure

Bioassays are carried out with state-of-the-art equipment (micro-spray tower, olfactometer, flight tunnel, environmental chambers, containment level 1 breeding rooms, attraction/repulsion laboratory) and a research orchard that is unique in Québec.

The projects conducted at the labs—whether they involve R&D, technology transfer, or implementation—fall within the mandates of IRDA and Réseau-pommier. These include the reduction of risks posed by pesticide use and the adoption of sustainable approaches to conventional and organic fruit production, market gardening and field crops.
