Edith Plante holds a bachelor's degree in science (microbiology) and a teaching certificate from Université Laval. Edith has worked since 1998 at IRDA’s biological analysis lab (LAB) and heads up its quality assurance system. She performs accredited analyses of potato pathogens in compliance with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) Seed Potato Certification Program regulations and the ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standard. As part of her job, she handles communications with the CFIA staff and LAB clients. Before joining IRDA she spent 10 years working in medical research at the CHU de Québec Research Centre and at the Institut Universitaire de Cardiologie et de Pneumologie de Québec Research Centre.
