The Institut de recherche et de développement en agroenvironnement (IRDA) announces the appointment of Mr. Alain Vachon as President and Chief Executive Officer as of August 27, 2021.
This new appointment follows the retirement of Mr. Georges Archambault. In this regard, the members of the Institute's Board of Directors wish to highlight the decisive impetus he has given to the Institute over the past six years to better meet the needs of producers. They thank him and wish him a happy retirement.
As for Mr. Vachon, he is a first choice candidate to continue to make the Institute flourish, develop its expertise and bring it to its full potential. His knowledge of the Institute, his academic background, his rigor, his analytical skills and his motivation to pursue the changes undertaken to allow the organisation to contribute ever better to the development of sustainable agriculture of the province of Quebec make him a first choice candidate.

About Mr. Alain Vachon
Mr. Alain Vachon has over 25 years of experience in the field of law. He holds a bachelor's degree in biology and a formation in environmental law. He worked in private practice for 10 years, where he developed a solid knowledge of intellectual property in addition to pleading before the courts. During his career, he held management positions within the CRIQ for more than nine years before joining the IRDA as Director of Corporate Affairs, Legal Affairs and Human Resources.
