Researchers must have the means to measure odour concentrations and emissions in order to identify new farming practices that reduce odours.
The Olfactometry Laboratory can measure odour perception thresholds and pleasantness characteristics in accordance with North American and European standards. Our mobile equipment can be set up directly at the testing site.
A key component of the Olfactometry Laboratory is the ODILE olfactometer designed by Odotech Inc. This instrument has six odour-sniffing stations and the equipment needed to control air circulation. In compliance with various standards, the lab has a sophisticated ambient air conditioning system that monitors airflow, temperature, and odours.
