About

Maryse Leblanc (agr., Ph.D.) obtained her bachelor's degree in biological sciences at Université de Montréal in 1982 and took courses in agronomy at Université Laval and McGill University in 1984 and 1985. She earned both a master's degree in 1990 and a doctorate in 2002 from McGill University. Maryse has been an agronomy researcher working in weed science for over 25 years. She began working at Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation du Québec in 1992 and joined IRDA in 1998, where she conducts R&D work on reducing herbicide use in field crops and horticultural production by means of alternatives such as mechanical and flame weeding. She has co-authored many scientific and popular articles, books, chapters, and posters. Maryse has also been involved in numerous provincial, national, and international presentations.
