Cathy St-Laurent holds a bachelor's degree in medical biology with a specialization in microbiology from Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières. Before joining IRDA, she worked as a microbiologist, a research officer, and a research assistant in both private and government laboratories. She has worked on projects in the areas of plant fermentation, cheese production, and the validation of culture media for the detection of food borne pathogens. Since 2019, Cathy has been working as a research assistant in IRDA’s Agricultural Hygiene Laboratory.
